“The specs say it is 16.9" wide. Is this accurate? All other AVRs are 17" +. It's very important that this will fit into a space exactly 17" wide. Thx.”

I measure it to be 17" with a metal tape with 1/16" divisions.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Took my tape measure to mine. It's 1/32" less than 17". The sides are smooth, with nothing projecting beyond the 16 31/32". Not much wiggle room, but if you've got a clean 17", it should squeeze in.

It should fit in a 17in opening just fine. If you need an exact 17in receiver, I would chose a different model. Sorry if I can’t be of anymore help.
