“Is there a way to get the receiver to got to the last setting or do I have to select TV and then select CATV every time I turn on the tv ?”

Hi donnyd, Thanks for your inquiry. This receiver should go to the last input that you've selected before you turn off the unit. If the unit defaults to TV input and not to the last input that you've selected, please make sure that the unit is connected to the TV via HDMI ARC on both ends and the control for HDMI function turned on.
