If the soundbar has HDMI In and Out with Pass-Through, yes. If it also has ARC, that's it. If no ARC you'll also need to also connect Optical or Coaxial audio from the TV. It gets a little confusing... just think it through. Keep in mind, your soundbar is a receiver/amp just as this unit. Doing it this way allows you hear the soundbar output without having the surround system turned on. When you turn on the surround, you can turn the soundbar off or mute,
