“I am running TV through this reciever and have cable box HDMI plugged into the CATV port but when I shut TV off and turn back on the reciever goes to the TV setting not the CATV setting. Is there someway I can set this to turn on so the CATV setting ?”

I am not having that issue. I have the DH590 hooked up to a Tivo media box which is always on so that is the setting it starts with. However, if I turn on my blue ray player the receiver will switch to that no matter if my receiver was turned off or on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Use your cable box remote to turn tv off and the receiver will go off and turn on when you use that remote. Try that. That is what I do. And it work. Even the sub turn on and off as well. Now that's if you used the remote to turn your tv on and off with it before you got the receive. You will have to use the receiver remote for volume control.
