Can you setup inside as 5.1 and use the two other speakers outputs for speakers outside with a volume control switch to control the volume outside? I figure you can turn off the volume outside when you don't need it. null

I was able to use two of the speakers outside with a volume control. The issue doing this poor man’s 2-channel is you can’t adjust volume inside without affecting the volume outside. The sound outside will match inside, but with one exception. With the volume control switch connected to the outside speakers…you can turn down the volume outside. However inside might be too loud.

If two zones are required, it would be better to choose a receiver that has 2-channels.

Hi GCN,

No, you cannot switch volumes using this AV receiver. You can only do that with our STRDN1080 using the zone 2 function.
