“Will this receiver decode AAC5.1 surround? If not, will it reproduce 5.1 surround if I send PCM from my TV optical to receiver? I have an older Sony sdr-dg910 that works great when sending PCM from my TV to the receiver when playing AAC 5.1 audio.”

Hi Jeff, Yes, this unit is capable of decoding a 5.1 surround audio format from an optical connection from your TV to the AV receiver. -Sam
