• Yes, the M2 can stream from a media server on a home network and handle both WMA and FLAC among others.

• It can connect to DLNA servers on your network, although it seems a bit finicky. Not sure if that is the Sony software or DLNA. The files you are serving over DLNA have to be a format that the player will recognize, or your DLNA has to be able to transcode them accordingly.
