“Can the batteries be replaced if they go bad or is this a "ditch the whole thing" kind of product?”

• Hi, dmb! Unfortunately, you cannot manually replaced the batteries on your own. However, you can bring the headphones to an authorized servicer and they should be able to replace the batteries for you. -Sam

• You would ditch the whole thing, not easy to replace, but i'm sure that could be done, i would not think the battiers will go bad anytime soon.
