I have a pair of Bose QuietComfort 25, which is the older, wired version and I found the Sony to be about equivalent to the Bose for their active noise canceling ability. I am very impressed with both manufacturer's product and I think you would be happy with either one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I THINK you're asking about the Noise Reduction feature. I have Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II Headphones and the Sony WH-CH700N Headphones. Using them while cutting grass or leaf blowing, I find that the Bose reduces a much wider frequency of sounds and gives you a cleaner version of the sound you want to hear (Podcast, Music, Etc.) at the same time. I found that when using the Sony I had to adjust the Podcast's volume much higher than I wanted to, to hear the Podcast voices over the lawnmower noise. It should be considered though that the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 is MUCH more expensive than the Sony WH-CH700N. You get what you pay for.

Typically Bose is considered top rated on noise cancelling quality but these do a nice job. They don't cancel out sharp noises like a gunshot or higher pitched sounds like talking which is typical for active noise cancelling. An example be if you have a fan blowing on you it would cancel out the low droning sound of the motor but you would hear the sound of the airflow.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. The Bose QC series does a much better job than the Sony headphones, but obviously at a higher price. If you're sticking with Sony, look at the 1000X (over-the-ear or the earbud style) series for the best noise cancelling quality and options.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe they both have their strengths, but the Bose overall has better noise cancelling. The Bose do, however, exhibit the "pressure" feeling that may complain about due to the level of reduction.
