Noise cancelling block or filter sounds. If you want noise canceling ear buds, get the Bose QuietControl 30... the sound quality was superior to any I have ever tried. I just could not afford them so I took them back. PLUS, the Habra are waterproof and true wire free.

Please try again later.Noise canceling uses active technology to “listen” to the sound in the environment, then play frequencies that cancel out those waves, isolating you from the environment. Non-noise-canceling headphones just have big cups that cover your ears and block a lot of the noise. That said, with sound playing through the headphones, I can’t hear the outside world anyway. Personally, I’d rather save the $170 and get these. I’m very happy with them, and found active noise-cancelers to be only marginally better at best, and some were actually worse.
