As of December 2022, the phone is running Android 12. There has been different variations of this phone (South East Asian models) have received the Android 13 update. Sony likes to push updates by regions, so Asia models will usually be the first to get the update.

The Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III were announced last April with Android 11 and picked up the Android 12 update earlier this year.
