“I preordered the gold edition way before the promotional gift beanie, should I still get it or do I need to contact best buy to ensure I get it? Anyone had experience with that?”

I never got mine either. I didn't contact best buy, but I'd be interested to know if it helped.

You should. I preordered in January and Best Buy automatically added it to my order when that promotion came out.

Depends on the store, if they got them you should be able to get one. Like for example shadow of war was supposed to come with a ring and something else but my local Best Buy didn't get any so even though I pre ordered it I didn't get it.
