The settings indicate WiFi is not disabled, but we cannot connect to the drive without a cable connected router and active internet service. The phones, even though connected to the router via wifi, still require active internet. As a stand alone security monitoring system you can connect with the included TV cable and mouse- REQUIRES A TV. Longer cables are available.
