“Is the battery detachable? I want to get it as a gift but can't give it to baggage at flights with battery.”

• i removed the battery to paint the frame. it's quite easy. three hex bolts on the frame and one hex bolt on the bottom piece that covers the downtube hole. you'll have to remove a hexnut that holds the charging cord first before the battery can be pulled out. i believe i took it off with one of the supplied wrenches. you'l also have to diconnect a few cables. once everything is disconnected, the battery slides out pretty easily. just a little bit of elbow grease required.
