“From what I've gathered, looks like Google TV is or will be discontinued and replaced by Android TV OS. Will there be an over the air update/upgrade to OS 14 from OS 12 which this tv is on?”

Google TV is built on top of the Android TV OS; Google TV is not a separate operating system but a user interface (UI) that acts as a content-focused overlay for the Android TV foundation, offering a more personalized and modern way to find and watch content.
