“If this is used to clone an existing 1 TB HDD in a Win 10 machine which has about 300 GB of files and programs on it to a 500 GB HDD will it work, or does the destination drive have to be 1 TB or larger?”

• You can use any previous formated hard drive.

• This is data storage device. You need 3rd party's cloning software to clone OS HDD.
