As long as you can extract the hard drive from the case it's in

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Many times it's the power supply and associated electronics inside the external enclosure that fails . . . not the hard drive itself. If that is the case, the drive can be docked into the BlackX and used as before (as an external hard drive). If the drive itself is faulty, no the BlackX can't help. The BlackXs are designed for plug-in/out portability. I own 3 of them and use them daily.
