Honestly I don’t know. Their sign-up process seems to be very buggy. I never even got to use my free 3-months because when I was signing up the process was interrupted by bad signal. I tried to refresh then back out and reapply. It saved my account but did not accept the trial code/link for my account. Then when I tried to use it it said it was already claimed (even though I had no service) so I deactivated my account and forgot all about it until Best Buy sent me this email-Q&A lol. Hope it works out for you though!

Yes you get a code. That code is used to set up a new Tidal account and can be gifted.

This subscription is for new subscribers only. So you can gift it to anybody and they have sign up with a fresh email account, if they already have existing tidal account.
