Just connect your Satellite box and enable the Power On feature, for the TV to turn on displaying your channels. Go Home > Settings > Display & Sounds > Power On and select Last Input.

The type of screen does not affect types of channels, dvr, etc. Flat screen offers a higher quality with a smaller footprint. I have a Toshihba 32" with built in Fire TV and a Firestick for a 46" Samsung. I cut the cable and have Hulu Live for live channels Netflix, and Disney+

It is Definitely not like old TVs. The smart TV feature makes it complicated at first to use and adapt. This is the future.,...it is a good tv at value.
