• Phones don't typically have an HDMI output port.

• You might be able to port his phone to the TV with a specialty cord, mini usb to hdmi. I do this with my tablets and also my Kindle. Make sure device is off before hooking up cable, and shutdown before disconnecting, Or use a casting device and phone app, to cast the phone screen to the device, which sends it into the hdmi of the TV. Hope that helps.
