“How can I use it I have it plugged up next to my router on the first floor what do u recommend my son is trying to use his PS5 in the basement and it's running funny should I move the extender”

It needs to be closer to the spot above where he is in the basement. It is not meant to be right by the router it is meant to be in between the router and the spot you need better signal. Think of it as an invisible extension cord for wifi.
