• No, you do not need the router provided by your ISP. Usually those are slow and outdated, or even sometimes refurbs. You DO need the modem they supply as this is not a router/modem combo , and this unit/package is used in place of their garbage router.

• Put your ISP router in bridge mode. You get faster speeds. So yes.
