“Once the battery wears out, can it be replaced or do you have to buy another Megaboom 3?”

• These answers are not correct. The batteries in the MegaBoom and MegaBoom3 are most certainly replaceable. Although Lgogitech probably will not do it. A google search will find kits, instructions and special tools for the job.
