“Do I get a notification or a warning when the drone is about to die? or does it just randomly die mid-air? I would assume something would tell me the battery left or when it is about to die but I don't know.”

• Yes, when you download the app to your phone it tells u everything from GPS sats available, current battery life of remote and of dtone
