Not sure I follow your comment, that it's a dumb tv? Connect the cable box to your tv. In my case, i have a cable box that connects to the cable coming out of the wall and an HDMI cable that connects the cable box to the tv input. You need a separate paid subscription to use apps such as Netflix or Hulu, as well as a Facebook account to access Facebook. YouTube requires you to have internet access, no account is necessary to just view videos.
