“As I have grown older my eyesight is getting to the point that I have trouble playing games on my Compaq laptop that is 6-7 years old. Can I use this TV as a monitor screen using USB port with a file transfer cable? Thank You”

You can but you have to connect the laptop with an HDMI cord. The T.V. USB port will not connect devices.
