“This tv contnues to turn my picture dark while watching tv. Is there a setting that can fix this issue or do I need to return it? Currently I have to unplug it from the wall overnight so it can reset, but will turn dark the following week again.”

I got this issue once and after I turned off and on, this issue is gone. Check to see if the picture mode is defaulting to 'Calibrated Dark' then change it to other mode. My advise, return or exchange before your warranty ends, if you are seeing that issue again and again.
