It does, If the model supports it, you use the audio as regular and the single green for the yellow. The red and blue stay disconnected. Try it. Component and Composite are shared.

A composite connection is only capable of display content at a resolution of 480i which means that the picture wouldn't look very good as its trying to force an image of 480 pixels per line into a format that fits the TV. This would enlarge the picture and make it fuzzy or blurry like zooming in on a picture to much. Component cables (green, blue, red, white, red) are capable of a much higher resolution.
