The main technical specs such as resolution, contrast ratio, inputs/outputs, etc., are all the same. The main difference is the date of release. The E70-E3 was released after the E70u-D3

The last two digits "D3" (compared to "E3") is referring to the model year. I believe the D is newer than the E. As far as the "U" - I don't have a solid answer on that, but I believe using the COMPARE feature on Bestbuy.com will help you.
