Yes you I do use the timer , only for when it’s getting late and we are about to call it a night and don’t want the fan running all night in the living room . You can run the fan as long as you want . We just take advantage of the timer for our convenience

No, you don't have to use the timer. I only use the timer if I want it to turn off after a specified period of time. Just use the power button instead of the timer button.
