“Can this operate without the heat? I see in other questions/answers posted the flames can operate separately from the heat so does that mean you can have the look of the fireplace without the actual heat coming from it?”

Hello Vic, Yes, this fireplace can operate without the heat. As you mentioned, there are two switches that allow control of the heat and flames independently of one another.
