This external hard drive will allow you to store and play all PS4 games and game data. It will Not allow you to play stored PS5 games however. If you store PS5 games to the external hard drive then it will be archived (removed from your play library) which makes it useless since you can virtually do the same thing by deleting the game and re-downloading it from the Playstation store under purchased games. The only way to store and play PS5 games and data is to expand the internal system hard drive which is pricey but a necessary option if you want to have a lot of downloaded games in your library.
