• Yes, it can be used as internal drive. But it would be cheaper to just buy a bare drive than this one with the case.

• Yes. It's a regular SATA (not SAS) drive. If you're careful you can even pop it back in the case. Or if you want you could take this one out and then pop any other 3.5" SATA drive into the case.

• Yeah, totes. Technically it voids the warranty but, I haven't heard of anyone actually getting denied on an RMA yet.
