I had to use the utility. The standard formatting option would repeatedly crash. Eventually I figured it out. The transfer process was also a little clunky. Not able to move large folders containing up to 4 tb. Subsequently, it took an extra couple days to open sub folders and copy those individually (or in large quantity depending on folder contents. The performance seems to be solid thus far. I bought the device a month ago; after leaving it plugged in for 3 weeks straight for various drive cloning I have not had any issues. WD usually has a solid products. I’m upgrading/preparing for more storage needs, not a single problem with other WD HD’s from 10-15 years of moderate usage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Assuming you meant shuck the 8TB Drive - I had no problems - Installed directly in my unRAID server with no problems, so the 3.3v pin does not appear to be an issue with this drive. Good Luck!
