Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My Dell has a drive but as long as you have a usb port the drive comes with a cable, and software installed. It worked great for me. The backup software allows multiple time automatic backups.

Most operating systems have a way to set up for backups and if that's what you are looking to do, I suggest you look at your operating system's capabilities for automatic backups. While portable, keep in mind that portable drives are "fan-less" so incremental backing up should be fine, but being constantly on with no ability other than to air-cool the drive, you may run into issues down the line.
