Hi, Please be informed that the WD My Book is a USB only external hard drive and does not support direct connection to a WiFi router for network backups. It needs to be connected to a computer via USB cable. If you are looking for whole-house or network backups, we recommend using a network-attached storage (NAS) device like the My Cloud series, which is designed for router/network use.
