Sounds like many cabinet designs including mine, this will fit under a standard 30" wide 12" deep cabinet and with accuracy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will have just enough room to work with . I had about 3/4 inch to the front bottom frame of my 12 inch depth cabinet When you mark the holes using the template/ hanging bracket and you have successfully marked the centerline on both the wall and the overhead cabinet bottom, the drilled holes will line up incredibly accurately. Install is rock solid. It is 10.5 inches on center from rear of unit to the fastening location, plus a little more for the hanging bracket and some protuberances in the back of the unit , maybe 11 1/4 total
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Haven't mounted mine yet but my cabinets might be a slight bit too shallow. One possibility to consider is a metal strip that fastens to the bottom of the cabinet recessed into the face frame and extends out far enough to engage the Microwave mounting holes if the cabinet depth is slightly too shallow.

We would recommend reviewing the Installation Instructions for more information on proper Installation of the unit. https://www.whirlpool.com/content/dam/global/documents/201802/Installation%20Instructions%20-%20W11124888%20-%20Rev%20B.pdf .
