Most casseroles will fit and most large mugs. We did find that a major brand's 27.6 fl oz Pancake Syrup bottle would only fit in the microwave when the red cap was removed for size comparisons.

you should be fine, I can put a roughly 5-6inch tall cup in there.

You won't be cooking turkeys but it is spacious enough, and the extra space underneath has been worth it.
