“Tried to adjust volume by holding #4 button. Very low tone. Set timer and tone is so low you have to get up against the microwave to even hear it. Still can’t hear the tone. What can I do to adjust the volume???????????”

Can't help. You are way ahead of me with #4 button info.. Just accepted alert tone volume as it came out of the box, a little low but not unpleasant and OK in the absence of a lot of backgrund noise. Almost identical to the alert from another brand fridge bought at the same time. Out of interest I did a quick search and only found info for iphones and galaxy phones. Does Whirlpool or BB represent model as ADA compliant? If so, there ought to be flashing lights or s relay output to connect a strobe, presumably asynchronous so it doesn't induce epilepsy in hearing impaired people.
