- Answer Robert, This refrigerator is designed for indoor household use only. This refrigerator is intended for use in a location where the temperature ranges from a minimum of 55°F (13°C) to a maximum of 110°F (43°C). The preferred room temperature range for optimum performance, which reduces electricity usage and provides superior cooling, is between 60°F (15°C) and 90°F (32°C). It is recommended that you do not install the refrigerator near a heat source, such as an oven or radiator. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. QuestionHello! I see the set temperature on the control panel but is there a way to see what the actual inside temperature is? I just had this fridge installed and I don’t know if it’s cold enough yet.

- Answer Hi Buyer1, we usually recommend giving the refrigerator 24 hours to reach max temperature. You can view the temperature the unit is set for on this model. but not the actual temperature inside.

- Answer You may be blocking the circulation vent in refrigerator. This happened on my old refrigerator. It causes extremes in temp inside the refrigerator.

QuestionWe’ve had this refrigerator for just over one year now. Suddenly the water quit dispensing which then in turn means no ice is being made. I tried to unplug the appliance to reset the computer but that didn’t work. Any ideas?

- Answer These appliances are made in the USA. I’d contact the company you bought yours from and get a service guy out to your home. I’ve learned over the past 4 years you always buy the extended warranty. The service fee is a small price to pay verses having to replace the entire frig. Good luck!!

QuestionCan you set the freezer side warm enough so that it can function as a refrigerator? I.e. use the unit as a full refrigerator?

- Answer The answer to this question in my opinion would be NO. If the side by side has a ice maker, and the freezer side was set ther temp as the refrigerator. I believe the ice cubes would not not have a good solid ice cold consistency.

- Answer In my opinion, it is an absolute to purchase a 3-Year protection plan. The technology is so advanced no a days, if something does break which I hope it doesn't we could never fix the issue ourselves. I choose the 3 year Best Buy Plan, I have had nothing but positive results from working with the Best Buy "Geek Squad". Also when we purchased our Whirlpool Refrigerator we weren't aware of the Whirlpool option. That being said, I still would have chosen the Best Buy support plan.

QuestionWe have horrible city water and our current fridge allows us to put ice cubes in the holder and still use the dispenser without the unit making the cubes. Does this unit have the ability to do that?

- Answer Yes, you can. We currently do just that with a similar Maytag model (same company) that allows us to not use the inside ice maker. We are in the US Virgin Islands and we use cisterns filled with Rain and/or Well Water. We put two trays of ice in the freezer and use them to fill the ice storage built in the freezer door. We can finally use ice dispenser on the outside of the freezer door.

- Answer Marylou, the shelves of this particular model are as follows: 1 Fixed Full-Width Glass Shelves, 3 Adjustable Full-Width Glass Shelves, 1 Full-Width Plastic Drawer, 1 Dairy Bin, 2 Adjustable Gallon Bins, and 2 Adjustable Two-Liter Bins that are also plastic.
