I purchased this chromebook to replace the netbook I purchased my parents 5 years ago. If you're expecting much more than a netbook, you'll be disappointed. This chromebook has a larger display than the netbook, it has less storage, but uses flash memory so it's infinitely faster than the netbook. The battery life is good and it does everything my parents need. If you're expecting a full-fledged laptop, this is not the device for you.

I bought one for my wife and I to use for work. We needed them for work for basic web browsing and checking and sending emails but this Notebook far exceed my expectations. Not only am I using it for work but I also using it for personal. I'm watching Netflix on it with no issues of lag or buffering. Speakers are ok but you can use any bluetooth speakers and connect then to your Notebook. I'm using it everyday day and would strongly recommend it to anyone.

Yes, this is a Chromebook. Yes, it is much more limited than a PC or a Mac. Yes, without internet access, it's rendered useless. However, it's 2015. Nearly 75% of the United States population has home internet service, and I'd be willing to bet that 100% have access to publicly available WiFi, should they look for it. That being said, the Chromebook is the PERFECT laptop device for those who simply want to browse the internet - text, audio and video. It has a FAST boot speed (I timed 3.5 seconds) and comes pretty much ready to go right out of the box. The screen is certainly not top-grade... but, why would you buy a Chromebook if you're looking for a high caliber device? Any negative associations with the Chromebook are highly exaggerated and are basically forced: if you're expecting more than a basic internet browsing device, then you've failed from the start! If you need a device for BASIC internet usage - read the news, watch some YouTube, stream Pandora, stream Netflix to Chromecast, pay online bills, etc., then you cannot beat this Chromebook.

We bought them for our school, had a fixed budget and evaluated several different models <$200. We need to use them outside at our sign-up tables, too. The Acer CB3-111 can open the screen 170deg, so you can type while standing, there is minimum glare and definitely sufficient brightness when you are in the shade or even in the sun outside.The power plug on the back is great if you want to charge them all at the same time when you store them in standard letter size hanging folders. Performance is Octane 7600 and feels snappy for our students. Battery life exceeds a full day at school. Overall a great value.

My husband bought me this for a Valentine's day present and I love it! It's easy to use, light weight, and the perfect size if you don't need a computer for more than checking things online or watching Netflix. The only thing I wish it had was a cd drive.

It is a very good computer. So far it is very reliable and also very useful. I especially like that it is light weight, so that I can easily carry it wherever I go. Also it has a long battery life and it is very fast when opening up browsers. The Acer is one the best computers I have used so far.

At first I was hesitant, not being so familiar with the chrome book. Everything is kept in the cloud it is terrific. We have thoroughly enjoyed this chrome book. The girls school requires a chrome book. It's great my girls make power points , blog, and research reports. It's light and a good size for a 6,8, year old. They multitask and stream their music along with their favorite Star Wars videos. ( they are crazy about Star Wars) lol overall the chrome book connects to wifi anywhere and keeps an excellent charge.

Gone are the long boot up delays I have found with Windows systems. The Google Chrome operating system works very fast and conveniently. GoogleDocs and Spreadsheets open in tabs of the browser, and everything is saved automatically in Google Onedrive. The battery power lasts two or more days without recharging (depending on how long it is used each day). The device is small, slim and convenient to carry. No Anti-virus program is necessary, since the Google operating system checks itself on each boot up.

I currently have a Chromebook and often tout how I absolutely love mine to all who would listen. My girlfriend's birthday was coming and I saw how she enjoyed using mine, so I decided to get her one of her own. It was a hit!! She originally had a 17" Dell and didn't really use any Windows features other than web browsing, so this was perfect. She loves it and still can't get over the quickness of this tiny laptop! The battery lasts a good 8 hours under full use, the boot speed is tremendous - under 10 seconds!!, and it's just simple to use. I like Acer products - have for years. This is no exception - great, small Chromebook for a great price.

They use chrome books at school so we figured it would make sense to get one. My daughter is twelve and uses it all the time. Being in between a tablet and a laptop gives it alot of options. And remember...being App based you really don't have to worry about viruses. Lastly...the price was right. (shout out to Bob and Drew)

If you regularly have access to Wi-Fi, this is an excellent investment. Incredibly fast boot up, very long battery life, lightweight, and easy to use. Syncs to your Google account and brings over any preferences and bookmarks you have on a desktop/laptop or your Android phone.

This Chromebook continues to suprise me with more functions and capabilities that I wasn't expecting. It is efficient with doing any kind of office work and it's so convenient with its light size and ease of carrying it on travel. Couldn't be more happier with this purchase.

I bought the Chromebook for my daughter as her first computer. I wanted her to learn how to type along with becoming familiar with out to utilize online resources. The Chromebook's price point and functionality is perfect for this. The one drawback for me is that the space bar doesn't really press down. I don't think it affects her as much because she is just barely learning to type and I just expected that to be more like other computers. As long as you only need it to word process, email, create spreadsheets, and other simple tasks, this is probably the right laptop. I also like the fact that if I need to use it, I just log in with my Google account and all my shortcuts and apps come right up without them having to be loaded on her profile.

A+! Great product! I'm an Apple guy through and through, but do utilize Google's suite from time to time. This chromebook is solid. Light. Battery strength. Speed.

I bought this on sale for around $100. It was a fantastic deal. It works well, it's lightweight and is perfect for surfing the web and working on Google Apps. I also own a Toshiba Chromebook 2 that is larger, faster and has a better screen, but it costs $160 more.

This chromebook starts up and shuts down quick, user friendly, has a good screen size for movies, battery lasts long without having to constantly charge it, and pretty lightweight. overall great for browsing

I've found that this product is a little bit smaller than it seemed at first. I also have yet to find a mouse that is compatible with it. I tend to take it with me when I'm working (to client's homes) or when visiting friends/family. I don't find it's comfortable enough to use at home on a regular basis. Aside from these minor things, however, it works very well overall. It's lightweight, customizable, the battery lasts for a good chunk of time, and the sound was unexpectedly impressive. Aside from the personal preferences mentioned above, I have no complaints about the product itself. 4/5 Stars.

After doing my research on laptops and Chromebooks I realized I could have a wonderful laptop at a fraction of the price if I purchased a Chromebook. This is everything I need in a laptop and at $162 (w/ shipping) it's perfect for my budget. If you are a fan of Chrome and Google this will be right up your alley as all of your applications will utilize Google's OS, which is their repertoire of applications. For example: Google Hangouts instead of Skype Google Docs instead of Word You can download apps such as Spotify, Evernote, Dropbox which work within the browser. Again, after doing my research I found I can do pretty much everything I need with a laptop through Google's OS so this is perfect for me right now.

I know a chromebook isn't technically a laptop, but it's pretty close! Everything I do is online anyway, except for my flashdrive content and this device has 2 usb ports. It is exactly what I wanted. It is thin, lightweight, aesthetically appealing, fast, and highly portable! I got it on sale for $129 and I wish I could have gotten a few for the rest of my family.

Bought this great little chromebook for my dad at a steal when it was on sale for $129.99 . This is great for my dad since all he does is surf the internet and go on craigslist, eBay and shopping. Great for netflix, email and using google apps. I have worked in technology and I have dealt with many chromebook brands that either break too easily, have power issues, touchpad, OS failures but the Acer brand has been the best with less problems- only if someone carelessly damages the chromebook. You will not be disappointed this brand is the best for the price and quality.
