Purchased this for my 70 year old mother in law she loves it

this little laptop does a lot for the price you pay

I purchased this Chromebook and within the first week I had to contact Company with issues! Things got resolved with their help over the phone but now already having problems again. VERY frustrating!

This is great for the price and is sturdy so far .

great computer for my son who uses it for social media

I've had this Chromebook for a few days now and I have to say that it's a very impressive machine. Excellent sound quality partnered with a full HD screen, this Chromebook is a media delight. The OS itself has a few limitations such as not supporting Silverlight, also printing can only be done if you have a wireless Cloud type printer. I would have hoped that Android games would have some support but they are not compatible either. The keyboard works well, they keys feel firm and have a good feel but the mouse pad is clunky and doesn't have a right click feature. I also purchased a bluetooth mouse and right clicking on that brings up other options. The 16GB SSD is just pure lighting quick but if you need extra storage, I would suggest an external USB hard drive. This Chromebook is far from perfect but you would probably have to spend $1000 to get the equivalent performance and features out of a Windows 10 machine. So with the money you save, you can buy an external hard drive and Cloud based printer (if needed) and still have enough money left over to buy another Chromebook.

So when it was announced Chromebooks were going to get the Google Play store, I knew it was finally time to buy one. Being in the Android ecosystem, it only makes sense. I was excited to see that new Acer 14 inch aluminum Chromebook, but after numerous reviews stating it wasn't performing nearly as well as past Acer CB's, I decided against it. Everybody was pointing at last year's model, the CB5-571, or the Acer Chromebook 15. I read reviews, and people showed how snappy it was, and how even though it's only the dual core processor, this processor outperformed the quad core in the new Acer 14 like crazy! The fact that it was a big screen, and had speakers on the top solidified the decision for me. The price is awesome for these things. Rather than having to use my huge desktop PC in the summer which makes my room a good 10 to 15 degrees hotter than the rest of the house, I can leave it powered off and use my Acer 15 which practically generates no heat at all. Seriously, I've never heard the fan kick on, and it never gets hot to the touch. I love this thing. The screen is a great size, and for a sub $300 laptop, the screen is great. It's matte so it won't be a fingerprint magnet, and it's a full 1080p HD screen. The speakers are awesome and they sound great; it makes sense having them on top rather than on the bottom..what a stupid decision on the new Acer 14! Besides that, this thing has been running great. When I shut it off or let it go to sleep over night, it barely loses 1% of battery power. Right now I'm on my third day without charging it and it's at 52%. I use it typically on and off heavy usage between 6 and 9pm each night after work, so it's really running well. I like the keyboard as well; many said they didn't like the keys..sure they're laptop keys and a bit mushy, but I type just as fast on this thing that I do my normal logitech PC keyboard. All in all, great Chromebook and totally worth picking one up, especially now when the Play Store comes to them!!

let me start by saying I am not much of a computer person. I bought this for my wife and she didn’t even get to use it for what she needed it for. I didn’t know that this computer is more then a tablet.

The letters were too small, and didn t inlarge enough to read comfortably, in fact the inlarge seemed the same.

The computer is great for a beginner such as a child. I would not recommend it for an adult. It does come with it's own version of Microsoft Office with some differences.

Was expecting this to be a chromebook, as stated in the description. It's a lab top not compatible with google play.

Had I know there was no disk option on this computer I would not have of gotten for my son! Very disappointed

Family member wanted as a gift but it wasn’t adequate for her needs so returned it to BB.

I bought this in the US because, in Canada, we have a very small selection of Chromebooks available here. I also had to call Best Buy, to finish my on-line order because their order system would not not accept my address. I chose this particular model because of the value for the hardware. It has a full 1080p HD screen and 4Gb of RAM (working memory), so more browser tabs can be open at once. The 16Gb of SSD storage is reasonable and, apparently, it can be replaced with a bigger one, with some fiddling. This is my first Chromebook, so I am getting used to its limitations. However, I got a Google Voice number while in the US (it works outside of the US), so I'm happy. The ability to add basic utilities to Chrome, such as an editor or Hangouts, makes the platform useful day-to-day. Web browsing, banking, e-mail, all work as expected. I would highly recommend a Chromebook to anyone who does the majority of their computer time on the web. This particular model has a great big screen if you want to use it for watching movies while travelling, etc., too. The sale price of $250US sealed the deal.

Doesn’t come with a cd rom which is what my son needs for school! Not to thrilled

First off, if I search for a laptop, Chromebooks should not be included. This is not what the typical Joe is looking for when they search for a laptop. Anyone that will be satisfied with a Chromebook will search for a Chromebook. So when I purchased this so I could do some urgent work on the go, only to realize once it was already too late that this piece of plastic does not operate any Microsoft applications, it was extremely annoying. Moreover, when I tried to use MS Online or QuickBooks Online, it would keep prompting me to install the latest version of Chrome. When I tried doing that, it would tell me I have the latest version of Chrome installed. You could only imagine the frustration... Do not waste your time on this unless you are specifically looking for a Chromebook. In that case, its a nice and sleek device, but not worth the price tag even then.

it a huge screen computer but I did not enjoy it at all

I upgraded from an Acer C720P, which is a great chromebook in it's own right. The screen on the 15 is a great upgrade at 1920x1080. The speakers sound very good, for a budget laptop. It's very large, so don't expect to wander around with it. If you understand what you're getting with a chromebook, then this is a worthwhile purchase. Just don't rate it low because you don't know the difference between a chromebook and a PC.
