High quality graphics, but runs hot

This is a perfectly good gaming laptop - I only use it to play MMORPGs and video chat, and it does that extremely well. The graphics are crisp and lovely, the sound is fine from the speakers. The webcam works well for video calls, but since I use a headset I have no idea how the mic is on this.
Downsides: Gets VERY hot up by the speakers. The keys are generally OK to touch, but when it's running hot, you can feel it. Max fan is also fairly loud, and you will need to run it on max when the keyboard starts warming up. Both of these are common issues with any gaming laptop, so they're not a dealbreaker.
Specific dislikes to this laptop are the USB-A ports - you only get 2 and they are on either side of the laptop, about 3/4 of the way down the keyboard. So if you run a wired mouse and wired headset, it doesn't matter if you are left/right handed, you're going to have a USB stick pointing out where your mouse should be... I tried using an adapter on the USB-C port, and that didn't work for long, it was wiggly and the USB-A was too heavy, so it kept disconnecting. There is only 1 USB-C port as well, on the left side. Wireless peripherals would fix this, but then I would have to worry about charging them. Meh.
Also, some bloat applications when you start up, had to uninstall them, but that took like 2 minutes. And you have to go into the BIOs to get the obnoxious Predator-brand startup sound to go away, because it's loud and pointless. Those were very minor and easy to fix.
Upsides: Light-weight portable design, high quality graphics, plenty of storage for games and music, LOVE the max fan button so I can do my own heat management quickly. It plays all my games, on max graphics, with no issues (related to the laptop, anyway).
Despite spending 90% of the review complaining, the problems are minor in comparison to how well the laptop does what it's supposed to do - run games without issues and with the maximum speed and prettiness.

Awesome gaming laptop overall. Great performance and can play any game at the highest graphics levels with no performance issues. The fan is a bit loud when on turbo mode but is not really a big deal. I use the gaming laptop for streaming on twitch, youtube, trovo etc, and it performs awesome. The only really negative I have on the laptop is the memory. 16gb is just not enough. I had to upgrade it to 32gb and now it is the most affordable and best performance gaming laptop you can get for your money. I would also like to mention I purchased the laptop during a sale which made it the best price point.
I also did a huge amount of research on msi, gigabyte, rog, etc and was not really sure about acer, but the specs were the best. I would say for a competitive gamer or beginner this laptop is perfect. If you are highly competitive then a tower would probably be better but for me this was perfect, portable and definitely a recommend to anyone else.

Great for school and casual gaming

I’ve had this laptop for over two months now and it has been great for my use as a student and casual gamer.
It’s thin and light enough that I can carry it around campus without causing too much strain and it’s pleasing to the eyes as it doesn’t look too “gamerey.” The build quality is very nice. It’s all metal and nothing feels cheap. There is minimal screen and keyboard flex, if any. Typing feels great, but I’m not too picky about that sort of thing.
My only gripe functionality wise is after putting the laptop to sleep (not fully shutting it down), there would be a software error where it would not let me login with my fingerprint. If I tried to use my pin, I would still not be able to login. I got tired of this issue so I just turned off the fingerprint and pin, and have just been inputting my password. Seems like a windows/driver error since even if I disable the fingerprint and use just the pin I get this error.
Gaming wise, I’m a pretty casual gamer. Valorant runs great and looks amazing on the crispy screen. The fans don’t get too loud unless you turn on the “Turbo” mode, which put the fans to the max settings at which they’re really loud. If you have headphones on, however, the fan noise shouldn’t be an issue at all. I would still recommend a cooling pad to go under the laptop while gaming for longevity of the device.
My last minor complaint is that it’s not able to charge via the USB-C ports. I know it’s a gaming laptop and it requires a high wattage charger to keep it going, but it would’ve been nice to be able to carry a smaller/more portable charger for school. This hasn’t been too much of an issue, however, as it lasts me about 5 hours when browsing the internet.

Some problems of this product

There are few things that you need to notice if you will use this product primaily as a gaming platform. The following comments are all based on my experience with a LG 2K 144hz external monitor.
1. Ports
The only port that is directly connected to the dedicated graphic card(RTX 3070 laptop) is the HDMI port, both of the mini DP are connected to the mainboard. Therefore there will be some perfomance loss if you prefer to use the mini DP cable. However, when you use the HDMI cable, you may not run at 144hz in some games(Personally, I can not run at 144hz in Rainbow six siege, there is no 144hz option at all when using the HDMI cable. The other games I have played could perfectly run at 144hz).
2. Temperature
The CPU temperature for this machine is really high(Around 50 degree celsius when idle and up to 100 degree celsius when gaming). When I play League, the temperature is around 70 degree and when I play some 3A games the temp would fluctuate between 85degree and 100 degree(Even in Turbo mode).
3. Sounds
The fans of this machine is extremely noisy especially in Extreme or Turbo mode, you can barely ignore them even when put on a Headset. You may choose to watch some review in YouTube to see if you can endure that sounds.
4. Quality problems
After 3 months usage, my dedicated graphic card not worked suddenly in a November morning, though I could normally use the laptop without that RTX 3070. I had tried a lot of methods to troubleshoot it but none of them worked, so I sent it back to Acer for repairment. Acer sent my laptop back 2 weeks after and the solution was replacing the mainboard and updating the bios.
It can perfectly run now but I still don't know what caused that problem.
5. Gaming performance
For those who wants to play highly demanding competitive online game(especially FPS game), I would recommend you to buy a 1080p external monitors. The 110w(or 105W I dont remember) RTX 3070 laptop is struggling in support high-quality 2K gaming. With connecting through HDMI cable and connecting directly to the RXT 3070, you will have around 144fps in APEX legends(All low) and Rainbow Six Siege;
around 55fps in Assasin's Creed: Valhalla(I think I choose the Mid level setting);
60-70 fps in Battlefield 2042(extremely unstable in this game, probably EA's problem)
90-100fps in COD:Vanguard

The Predator Triton 500 RTX 3070 overall is an excellent laptop for gamers and designers. With Nvidia's RTX 3070 8GB VRAM, you can set the laptop for 2K gaming with ultra-high settings. The most impressive part is the 2560x1600 2K screen with 165hz 3ms response time, With the RTX 3070 model, which also supports G-SYNC plus Advanced Optimus feature which is completely MISSING on the RTX 3060 bade model. The laptop is a full aluminum build, which is a very solid feel but on the heavy weight side.

For such a high price tag, I was expecting this laptop to be built at near Apple quality. However, that's just not the case, and many of the components feel cheap.
For instance, the screen seems to be too easily moved and I can foresee issues with the hinge in the future.
Additionally, and this may just be a bit nitpicky, but the power button is a key on the keyboard and I'm not a fan of this design.
Furthermore, the fingerprint scanner makes the pc feel dated and not up to par with the current trend of Microsoft Hello. It also gets in the way when using the mousepad, but it's more of a preference I suppose.
Lastly, the laptop is upgradeable but requires you to remove the entire motherboard, as the ram slots are located on the opposite side... Absolutely not worth the high price and I'll be returning and replacing with the Omen 17.

Bought the laptop 6 weeks ago based upon the spec's and pricing deal. Delivery was on time and superb..TY Best Buy! Superb system out of the box. Now having to ship it back to Acer as the screen is dead. Contacted Customer Support...waited longer for a tech than the actual troubleshooting session took. Please hold the power button for 10 secpnds, Power down and turn on...No joy..still dead screen. okay now power down but hold the power button for 30 seconds...Nope Still dead. Okay..let me get you a customer ticket.
Based upon the emails sent to me for the RMA it now appears I have to foot the shipping costs as they sent instructions on where to fed ex the laptop but did not send or offer a shipping label for a warranty issue.
Downtime and extraneous costs don't make this the deal it appeared to be...be Weary!

Honestly for a laptop this thing packs a punch slim and very useful in many different ways. I wish that the cpu wasnt an H Sereis so I could multi task and stream a bit better but it is what it is just going to invest into an actuall rig next time !
