Works perfectly as a PS4 chat headset.

With the difference in inline microphone headset plugs it is hard to find any information on what type of plug is used and what it is compatible with. Nothing on if it is OMTP or AHJ wired. Even on the manufacturers website. I bought this in hopes that it would work with my PS4 DualShock 4 controller and it did, perfectly. I use a surround sound system for my playstation 4 but wanted to get a headset that would allow me to chat, but not interfere with my ability to still hear my game clearly by impeding one or both ears. I have tried all the different 1-ear gaming wired chat headsets that are officially supported for PS4 and all of them were cumbersome, and still blocked at minimum one ear, others blocked them entirely, while different ones were just painful or uncomfortable to wear at best. Once I bought this and found that it would work with the plug type on the dualshock 4 I was thrilled. So for anyone looking for a headset that is only for chat for the playstation 4 the sound quality is great, my gaming friends have no issues hearing me and I have no issues hearing them and still hearing my game when using my external speakers. It also sounds great at times when you need to send the game audio through to the controller (like at night while others sleep). The battery lasts a long time, which is the only thing that a lot of people complain about is a wired headset that requires to be charged, but bone conduction requires it. I have yet to find anyone who makes one that doesn't. So if you want bone conduction realize that it's not just something this company did for a ridiculous reason. It's needed, at least until the 3.5mm plugs go away as standard in place of something ""universal"" that can provide the necessary power to revolutionize the headphone market and open up a whole new world of possibilities for smaller portable devices, and yes I know that USB-C exists. Perhaps that will become the future of wired headsets including ones not normally used for gaming purposes. (No thank you lightning connector. You need to die so please don't try to infect the world more than you already have by creating a needless TRRS configuration when we already had one that didn't need to be changed. Note: I am not an apple hater, I use them. Just hate lightning and its predecessor and hope like the new iPad they begin universally moving to USB-C like everyone else). In summary, if you're looking for a great PS4 chat headset that doesn't block your ability to hear the game through external speakers, isn't big and bulky, and fits comfortably on your head then give these a try. Highly recommended.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I'd never even heard of Bone Conduction until about a month ago. I don't like over the ear or in the ear headphones so when I found out about AfterShokz Sportz Titanium w/Mic Bone Conduction Headphones I knew I had to give them a try. Where have you been all my life? Is how I felt after using them for the 1st time. Lightweight, so comfortable, non intrusive & great sound quality whilst still being able to hear what's going on around you! The headband is made form Titanium yet remains flexible so no accidental snapping/breaking. There is no interference from sounds around you when using the mic. either as it too is noise canceling. Which makes the following product description statement very very true: "The bone conduction technology of these AfterShokz Sportz headphones transmit audio signals through your cheekbones to keep your ears receptive to the environment" You get a cute little black pouch to carry everything in which is an added bonus. USB cable included for charging which powers up to full capacity in a couple of hours. I absolutely HIGHLY recommend AfterShokz Sportz Titanium w/Mic Bone Conduction Headphones. I used these with my iPhone X and they did not last as described by the manufacturer. I tried many times but they would not work. I would go on a 6 mile run. and they would last the entire run but on my next six mile run they would always die before i finished. That is not 12 as described. it actually less that two. They did send me a replacement pair from the manufacturer but those did the same. So for me they did not work as needed but the tech is super cool. maybe it had something to do with the lightning connector or running GPS while listening. I do not know.

I bought this product for my mom, she wanted to use wireless earphones in the gym. In the beginning she was a little concerned about don’t having cable to conect the earphone to her phone. Once I show her how it works and she started to using them she loved them. Now she recommend everyone one this earphones. I highly recommend this product. Best decision ever!

These are the first bone conduction headphones that I ever had. It works better than expected. Bluetooth one would be probably more convenient, but I did not want Bluetooth. Outside noise can be disruptive without the earplugs, but that is to expect. Very satisfied with the product.

I needed these so they'd stay on my ear and so they wouldn't be wireless because bluetooth intereferes with other radios I'm working with at the same time. Couldn't use because it turns off by itself if nothing is playing. I need it to monitor air traffic on my phone and there can be long delays between any sounds.

This is an update to the last review as Best Buy doesn't allow you to edit or delete your review after posting... I got these headphones right before going on a trip. On the way, I opened the package and tried on the headphones, only to figure out that they needed to be charged before using. After finally getting to a hotel and charging them, I realized that the sound quality is actually quite amazing. Here are my thoughts after a few days of usage: Sound Quality: The sound quality is amazing. The bone conducting functionality is interesting as I have never experienced it before, although it only starts vibrating when the sound is turned all the way up. One thing that is a bit of a downer for me (although perhaps an advantage for users of other demographics) is that the sound is not isolated. Hence when you turn up the headphones enough to get the bone conduction to work, everyone else within a few feet of proximity can also hear your audio. Comfort: the headphones sit in front of your ears, which takes a bit of getting used to. They are pretty comfortable after a while. I haven't tried jogging with them yet, but leaning back in a seat with these headphones on was not a problem for me. Packaging: The packaging is beautiful. I wish there were more instructions included in the packaging though - a small getting started diagram would have helped as these headphones are not very self-explanatory. Sometimes they work even when they are not charged (e.g. when I plug them into my laptop), other times no sound comes out. Convenience: The headphones are a bit bulky. I'm used to putting earbuds in my jacket pocket to carry around. These ones aren't really meant for that. However, it does come with a nice leather pouch, which is beautifully designed. I'm also not a fan of having to charge your headphones. When I'm out and about, I don't really want to worry about my headphones running out of battery on top of my cell phone. However, if you are at home or at a location with ample power, it's not a problem. The charging port is also standard so most android phones would use the same charging cable anyway. I unfortunately have a LG G5 with a type C cable, so I had to carry around an extra set of cables just to charge the headphones. Bottom line: If you are into loud music with beautiful sound quality that you can really feel on your ears and don't mind others hearing your music or carrying around extra cables, then these headphones are for you. I think I will be using these at home as I do enjoy the bone conduction but won't really be using them out in public much. Interesting headphones - great for audiobooks

Let's start with this. The headphones were delivered in an attractive, easy to open package. I didn't even have to break out scissors to open them. The package includes instructions, the headphones, and a small bag to carry them in. The headphones themselves looked great. They had enough cord for me to wear them with my phone in my pocket, although a few more inches of cord might have helped in the long run. After I finally figured out how to wear them (they sit in front of your ear) they were super comfortable. These are probably the lightest headphones I've worn to date. They didn't move at all when I wore them out jogging either, which is rare for anything but earbuds for me. Even me sweating didn't cause them to move. Let's talk about sound quality for a minute. I listen to just about everything, from electronic, to rock, to audiobooks. The mid and high frequencies are phenomenal on these, as long as you're wearing them correctly. The lows, while not bad at all, leave something to be desired when compared to traditional in or on ear headphones. They are the best headphones I've ever worn for listening to audiobooks though, the voices from them are crystal clear. Now the downsides. For something I have to charge, I wish it was wireless. Having to charge something that has a cord is kind of frustrating. I never really treated the true battery life, since I'm usually in and out of meetings, but it was definitely long enough for my uses. I don't often have a 12 hour long session wearing headphones anyways. Secondly, these aren't as discreet as you would like. If you are trying to use these like other headphones to listen to music loud enough to block others out, everyone around you can hear you. But again, the benefit of these is that you CAN hear what's going on around you, so if you're looking for something that will block sound then you'll want to look elsewhere. Ultimately, these are great headphones for those who are looking to put music on in the background, or those who are listening to audiobooks. They are super light and comfortable. Very interesting take on headphones

I have been using these headphones for about a week now. I wasn't sure what to expect when I tried them out, but I was pleasantly surprised. The design of the equipment fits nicely over the ear, and there is no discomfort that I would normally experience with traditional headphones. I particularly liked these when I wanted to listen to something while still having a conversation with someone in the room. Not having plugs in my ears allowed me to hear my conversation as well as the music or phone call. The sound quality was very crisp, but if there was any outside noise I would have to turn it up, causing my music or conversation to be heard by anyone around me. I also did not like the fact that the power was not drawn from my phone, and I had to deal with a dangling power box that kept the headphones going. If I were to change one thing about the product, it would have been to eliminate/streamline the power box. Overall, I really like these headphones, but I will still use traditional buds when I want to go to the gym because I like to be able to zone out and turn my music up without hearing others/others hearing my music. I love these! The sound quality is way better than I expected and very loud at full volume. The bone conduction technology lets you hear what's going on around you even at high volume. They are very comfortable, the controls are easy to use, the battery lasts for a long time, and I'm told that the microphone is crisp and clear by callers on the other end. A different take on listening to music

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I never had the chance to try bone conduction headphones and I am genuinely surprised. I really liked the idea of hearing anything that surrounds you while listening to music. This headphone makes a lot of sense for outdoor use, one case over all, cycling around. You want to be aware of cars, horns, people around you. With these headphones you will get a much higher chance at hearing what happens around you. With regular ear pods this is a really hard goal to achieve. I would not suggest them for indoor use. Depending on the volume you set those on, you will hear people around you but people around you will also hear a bit of what you're listening to. My coworkers were a little bit bugged whenever I was listening music at higher volume. I honestly prefer the quality of Apple Ear-pods over these AfterShokz but I guess you might get different sound quality results based on your cheekbones. One last note. If you happen to use the headphone while charging them you will hear a constant annoying buzz so I would strongly suggest you not to do so. Let them charge and then use them. Overall I would rate these headphones 5 for the idea but 3 for the results . Interesting idea but with some serious limitations

This is my first experience with a bone conduction microphone. The idea works quite well but has some limitations. - Unlike regular headphones or earbuds, those around you will hear what you are listening if they are close to you. - The size is bigger than the smallish earbuds - The connection at the back of the head is stiff and a bit big to accommodate all different head sizes. As a result I can't lie down in bed and listen to a book or music. Similarly it interferes and pushes on the headphones if I put by head back against a chair. - The sound quality is good but not excellent. - They need to be charged and there is a small rubber cover on the micro-USB port. It is very hard to open that rubber cover. Almost frustrating to get to that USB port. - That battery dongle is a bit awkward especially if I connect to my phone and go for a jog. Maybe I will get used to it with time. - I ran out of battery and found that I couldn't listen anymore until I charged. A bummer while on a jog outside. - The best part though is that I can listen to what my kids are saying around me though my brain now needs to process two things at once which it isn't quite capable of! Not the best headphones for athletes

    Posted .

I wear headphones mostly for working out. I had a few issues with these headphones. First of all, the headphones need to be charged. The charging port adds weight to the cord, which is uncomfortable while running. After about an hour on the road, the ear piece became uncomfortable. The bone conduction technology is unique, and it was my first time trying it. Sound is a vibration, however as the volume increases the vibration on your cheeks feels very weird. That would take some getting used to for me. I believe these ear phones would work very well for other reasons. The priceline is reasonable. They are a good quality product. I believe they come blue tooth as well. If that is the case, I would recommend the cordless version to athletes. Cool Headphones - Great Fit!

This is my first time using bone conduction headphones and I am impressed with the sound quality. But beyond the sound, I was also impressed with the fit and comfort of these headphones. I used them and so did my 10 year son and they fit great on both of us which is fairly rare. I think it was largely due to the over ear hook. One benefit of the headphones is the fact that it does not actually cover your ears so you can have great sound while you are also able to monitor your surroundings more effectively. I used them while riding my bike on a busy street and found it works well for this environment. For what its worth, people were also fairly fascinated by the headphones and actually stopped me and asked about them which was entertaining as well.
