When I received this set, I was absolutely floored! The Alien Quadrilogy is a nine-disk boxed set devoted to all four Alien films. There is a "protective sleeve" which houses all nine disks which folds out into a visually captivating panorama of all four films and easily slips in and out of its box. The artwork on the foldout sleeve and the box is superb! The set includes the theatrical release and the directors cut/special edition for each film, with fantastic bonus footage on EACH disk of pre-production, production, and post-production including (but not limited to) commentaries by the directors and cast, deleted scenes, storyboards, Sigourney Weaver's screen test, visual effects gallery, photo gallery, music composition - editing and sound, reactions to the films, special shoots, and more! Disks 1-2: Alien (1979) Theatrical version (117 min.) 2003 director's cut (137 min.) Disks 3-4: Aliens (1986) Theatrical version (137 min.) 1991 special edition (154 min.) Disks 5-6: Alien 3 (1992) Theatrical version (114 min.) 2003 special edition (restored work print version) (155 min.) Disks 7-8: Alien Resurrection (1997) Theatrical version (109 min.) 2003 special edition (119 min.) Disk 9: Bonus disk Includes numerous theatrical trailers, teaser trailers, domestic and international trailers, TV spots, pre-production, production, post-production Q&As, script to screen comparison, etc. The price for the set is the 'piece de resistance!' With each film (theatrical release and special edition) having its own disk - plus the bonus disk - plus all the bonus footage and features, I would have expected it to cost at least twice what it is priced at. You won't be disappointed. Fantastic set. Fantastic price. KUDOS!

I'm so happy I orded this from bestbuy.com, I gotta say that when i went to bestbuy a couple years ago, back in 2006 i was put off on the price cause it was going for like 89.95 and i thought that was way to much for this but i knew i wanted. But now that is 2009 going into 2010. And that I looked everywere for it and couldn't find it. I just had to get it. What is so sad that Walmart didn't even sale the original or any of the alien franchise. All they had was the alien vrs. predator. I have read some reviews about how people didn't care for Aliens Resurrection but that by far is my favorite aliens installment , that an aliens-no.2. or no.1. I love Aliens resurrection the must cause you get to see Ripley like you never seen her before. This movie to me keeps me on edge and I can watch it again and again and never get bored. I would really love it if she came back and made another prequel maybe perhaps something on future earth and the aliens or something along that lines. and maybe have winona ryder reprise her role. I guess i liked the cast. And i did like the android from the aliens,no.2. Well i can't believed i payed 11 bucks for express shipping but it was well worth it...I can't wait to get this dvd set collector in my hand this week!!! I would recommend this to anyone who is an Alien franchise fan...

This is a great collection for one of the greatest movie franchises. This set of 9 dvds contains the theatrical and special editions for all 4 films with a bonus disc for each and a 9th bonus disc for the entire set. This is deffinitely a set worth having if you are a fan. The first Alien movie is a classic horror-science fiction film. Aliens is one of those rare sequels that surpases the original (in my opinion). Alien 3 tends to get some hate from people, but I don't think it's that bad. It is a big step down from the previous 2, but Alien and Aliens are tough acts to follow. Resurrection also gets some hate, but it's still a great entry into the series. Fortunately this set was made before the aweful Alien vs Predator so there is no way that garbage could be included here.

This set contains Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, and Alien Resurrection. Each film has a commentary track by the director and members of the cast, with the exception of Alien 3, which doesn't include David Fincher. The behind-the-scenes documentaries are almost movies in and of themselves, including footage from the sets as the films were being shot, and there are extensive interviews with the cast & crew. I particularly enjoyed seeing Newt, the girl from Aliens, as a grown up. Though the latter two movies aren't that good, the documentaries and commentaries help you to understand what went wrong, and it's so interesting that it almost makes up for the films being the way they are. This is definitelty one of my favorite DVD sets.

This is a must have for any "Alien" fans. This set has all of the original 4 films as they appeared in theaters, as well as extended editions (some with over half an hour of added footage!). That means "Alien", "Aliens" "Alien3" and "Alien Resurrection". The commentary and special features are also magnificent (especially insights given by director Ridley Scott and James Cameron). Spread out over nine discs in a fancy package, this set is hard to beat.

I had been wanting to get this set for a while now. When I finally got it, it was worth the wait. If you are a fan of the movies, or even a sci fi fan, you're in for a treat. This set is composed of nine discs including not only tho original theatrical versions, but also the director's cuts, not to mention tons of extra footage and features. For a movie that came out in the late 70's early 80's it does not appear outdated at all.

For the price, you can't beat this set! You get two versions each of four movies, as well as a disc of extras for each one. The packaging is also superb! If you're a fan of the movies, or even someone new who would like to see them for the first time, this set is worth the investment!

This is the most loaded DVD collection ever. Each movie has the original film and the director's cut(or bonus cut). If you dedicate yourself to watching everything on these discs you will be busy for MONTHS. And that is not even considering how amazing these films are as stand-alone movies.

Special features by themselves make this set worth the purchase. Making of Alien3 was particularly interesting (no wonder it wasn't very good). Wish they could have gotten Fincher to discuss that film. Plus, two versions of each movie (theatrical and director's cut).

Even if parts three and four of this "quadrilogy" weren't up to the high standard of the first and second installments, this set still is essential viewing for any SF fan.
