Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The machine has a pretty nice look and Dell brand behind, however, it has an intermittent crash issue that turn screen black and hit the fans to max level (very scary behavior) called Dell for 5 x and they made all possible software changes and still have the issue.. took 4 months on back and forward… finally sent to Dell repair center (lost another 2 weeks) and they replaced the GPU AND had to reinstall the Windows.. Haven’t received my Desktop back yet to confirm it resolved the problem.. BUT, NVDIA been on the “stars” now and just blowing poor quality products in the market and i suffered because of this.

Here are the steps to help resolve your crashing issue:
1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
2. Select View all problem reports viewing a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.

PC Worked for a day, Then started overheating

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a good first day with it played games all night no problems, next day mid afternoon it turn off my monitor and spun the fans really fast and reset, after it ran normal for 15-30 mins then would turn off my monitor and the fans would spin really fast and restart again. This happened 7-8 times, I tried everything I could, super disappointing, I bought a prebuild to not have this problem.

Here are the steps to troubleshoot your heating issue:
1. Update the system BIOS.
2. Configure Alienware Command Center.
• Open Alienware Command Center
• Set the Active System Theme - Thermal as Performance Mode
3. When the system boots up, using the preinstalled software Dell SupportAssist run the stress test.
• Dell SupportAssist > Hardware Checkup > CPU > CPU stress test
4. Launch the Alienware Command Center, go to Fusion, and monitor the CPU frequency.
• The CPU peak temperature should be less than or equal to (≤) 100 ℃
• When under high stress, the system average temperature can be expected to be less than (≤) 100 ℃
• Note: The CPU average temperature can be expected to reach 95 ℃ under cool mode for the Alienware m15, m17, and x17 systems

The time it took to open file explorer and other files was slow, 10-15 sec. My 16 year old computer moves faster.

Proprietary parts and minimal options for upgrades made this a disappointing purchase.

With 6 at home repairs and 2 refurbishes this is quite possibly the worst purchase I’ve ever made. The whole model of the computer is terrible the overheating problems make the computer black out no matter what you replace or do. IVE REPLACED THE COMPUTER TWICE. Still each and every computer has this problem. I originally bought this one they later sent me an upgraded version with a 4090 and double the ram and even STILL THIS THING OVERHEATS AND BLACKS OUT. I’m tired of this I wish I can go back and just save myself all the headaches this stupid pc has gave me. If you’re looking to buy a computer please look somewhere else. Dell does not care.

After multiple attempts it finally completed setup and when I tried to play any game, Guild Wars 2, Fallout, Forza, etc. it would crash constantly. Awful pc, would not recommend anyone buy alienware
