so take this review for what it is. The Fire TV was easy to install and I'm loving all the features, free movies, music and simple interface - this thing even has a screen saver that comes on when you're listening to music! We've always just had our Comcast cable service without DVR and occasionally used Comcast OnDemand to watch/rent movies - but I'll never watch from Comcast again. The voice recognition software is amazing and brought me to exactly what I was looking for every single time I searched. It's just so easy to find what you're looking for (unlike Comcast), and since I'm an Amazon Prime member most of what I want to view is free - oh and for the new release movies the cost to "rent" from Amazon is on average cheaper than Comcast OnDemand by a ~$1 or more. So happy with this purchase!

This box is Amazon's newly released fire tv box. It works better than the previous version over wifi because it is not laying on a shelf and hangs freely in the air while plugged in to your tv. It is a disappointment having to buy a separate product to be able to hardwire with an Ethernet cord unlike the previous model which has a jack built into the product. You have to buy an additional piece to this box if you want a wired connection with an Ethernet cord.

I bought this to replace my original fire stick, it was getting slower every time I used it. This one is super fast and easy to use, the alexa remote is nice also. I hope this one doesn't get bogged down like the older models

WE got tired of our cable company's rate increases so we decided to "cut the cable cord." After speaking to a few people as well as the person who helped us at the Whitehall, PA store, we decided to purchase the Amazon Fire TV. We were not disappointed. The Fire TV is relatively easy to use although there is a bit of a learning curve. By using the Fire TV and joining a streaming service, we were able to cut our TV bill almost in half and still have access to all of the channels we normally watch...including our local ABC, NBC and CBS affiliates. The only minor drawback we've found so far involves returning to a previous channel. Unless I haven't discovered a shortcut yet, I have to go into the guide, scroll and select a previous channel. In the meantime, I'll keep experimenting.
