Customers regard the Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD and Alexa Voice Remote very positively, frequently praising its ease of use, 4K streaming capabilities, and excellent picture quality. Many appreciate the device's performance and the value for its price. While some users wish for more storage and an Ethernet port, the positive feedback on ease of use and picture quality outweighs these concerns. The simple setup and voice control features are also commonly highlighted as beneficial.

I actually baught the Fire TV when it origionally went on the market (the first one sold @ my local Best Buy ). When the newer ones came out with a better processor, I was interested in getting the updated version. When I saw it was on sale for $50.00 I was all over it! It is so easy to set up & enjoy and it works great with my newly purchased Echo devices. Love it!

I have all generations of Fire TV and Fire TV Stick which had been released; the older ones went as gifts to friends and family. The latest is by far the best yet. The better processor and the doubled RAM make a world of difference. Everything works just as on the previous configuration, but at twice the speed. I assume the bad comments about it are in fact some trolls or fan-boys/girls of the competition. I'm heading to get a second one right now :).
Highly recommended!!!

First of all, it doesn't have a Ethernet port or a SD card slot like the original Fire TV. That's why I only give it 4 stars. That being said, it has a super fast processor and you can watch 4K content, unlike the Firestick. As with all Amazon products, you can sideload Android apps like Kodi and Terrarium.

Amazon's New Fire tv is easy to setup and easy to use. As Amazon's fireOS goes, nothing has changed from last year's fire tv stick. On any non-4k television the two devices are mostly interchangeable.
The only potential downside to the device is it's stripped-down hardware feature set. The new fire tv is more akin to an upgraded fire stick than last generation's set top box. There are no longer usb ports or sd expandability. Also gone is the dedicated Ethernet port. Out of those things the only one I miss is the later, which in popular fashion can be augmented by use of a separate dongle.
The new fire tv is a good device for streaming media for those who just want the easy app access and those who are cutting the cord.

I love that it’s 4k! The dongle is an upgrade from the previous box. The processor is WAY better. Hardly any lag or loading issues. Definitely an upgrade

The fire tv is far better than the fire stick. Better processor, smoother streaming and 4k when available. Great product.

My wife and I, wanted to cut cords since our tv bill was 221 plus a month. We kept the internet and bought this. It is great! Since we are prime members, we figured to try it. You can't get 4k unless you have the 4k tv and this box. We did get the regular fire stick for one of our daughters tv. We purchased, Hulu, and Sling on top of Prime. It's still saving us about 150. A month. Hulu and Sling both have different stations that's why we got both. I totally recommend cutting the cord and getting this.

New Processor, but still only 2GB of Ram (like the FireTV Gen 1 and Gen 2). Yes, it supports 4k & HDR, but the lack of Ethernet, USB or MicroSD Slot, takes this device a step back. There is an optional Ethernet adapter add-on, but finding one is impossible. Also, if you have this connected thru HDMI ARC on your TV, you can expect some audio sync issues with certain apps. I'm sure with firmware updates, this will continue to improve, but for now, it's just a FireTV Stick on steroids. There is a rumor of a FireTV Cube (what this upgrade should have been), but time will tell!

I've had the previous two generations of the fire stick and, while they work well, sometimes the lag gets annoying. I haven't had this long enough to see whether it will get slower over time as these devices tend to do but, for the time being, the difference is night and day. Very snappy and responsive. As expected, the interface is exactly the same as the stick. Very much worth the upcharge considering it pushes 4k as well.

Where I live there is no cable wired. I only have DSL and it works fine with No Buffering. this fire box is the best thing ever. I like the fact that it has voice Alexa. Very easy to setup. I am on the 30 day trail for prime. I will also be purchasing prime once my trail is up. You can also rent movies from Amazon. I also like the fact of playing music.

Brainless (in a good way) set up and great overall device. Apps are a little hard to navigate at times but the voice control works pretty well. Streaming is strong and picture quality is really good.

While I have a multi-ecosystem household, we have Amazon all over the place. A couple of Echo Shows, an Echo, Echo Dots, multiple Fire TV Sticks, and now this latest powerhouse.
My favorite thing about the Amazon Fire TV is the ability to search for a movie or TV show across different streaming platforms. I can search for a movie, say 'John Wick' and if it's available on Hulu, Netflix, HBO Go or Amazon, it will find it and take me to it directly. I don't have to log in and search in every one of them to see if that movie is there.
I love that I can use the Amazon remote or my phone or tablet to control it.
I love that I can cast content to it from my phone or tablet too (not quite Google cast, but you can summon Youtube videos from it for example).
They're very easy to use, they are very quick and the price is unbeatable.

I believe I preferred the older fire TV due to the size and appearance. This unit hangs from the rear of the TV how long the cable will last is debatable. Easy to program with a lot of amazon bloatware on it.
Recommended buy far superior to the fire stick.

So obviously most TV's are smart TV's these days. But when you have an older tv that you want to stream on that you still have that works or, like in my case, have a computer monitor in your room that you do everything on then this is for you. Its easy to install and setup. Great picture quality and amazing selection of apps and available movies and tv shows. There is only one drawback that i dont like, and its the same problem as the stick, and that is that you still have to plug in a power cord. Why cant it be powered just by USB? Aside from that its a great product and i highly recommend it.

Great streaming device. Paired with Echo Dot and Harmony Companion to get full voice control over my entire home theater setup. Still trying to find the best way to get Fire TV to aggregate search results across Hulu, Netflix and other third-party apps.

The speed of this device is faster than the lower end USB Firestick, faster in response and menu navigation. Quality of picture is crystal clear as well. Would recommend definitely for the sale price of around $50 something dollars.

Solid unit. I like the simple nature of the connection and operation. The picture quality is great. Wish the remote had volume controls for TV and that there was more flexibility of the Amazon home page and display of content.

I don’t like that they took away features from the Gen2 FireTV like built in Ethernet. I don’t like how it hangs from the HDMI port because it puts stress on the port and could cause problems. I don’t like how it’s not as powerful as the Gen2. I don’t like how it doesn’t have expandable storage like the Gen2.
All those points aside, this version (Gen3) actually runs Kodi v17/18 a lot better than the Gen2 does. I just wish they would make another more powerful FireTV box with more features.

We were currently using a fire stick in our bedroom but it was slow and unresponsive. The Fire TV is much faster and the picture quality is noticeably better. Very happy with this purchase.
