I bought a Kindle Paperwhite because I wanted to read more books. What I actually wanted was to feel like someone who reads more books. The Kindle delivers on both. It's black. Not "midnight obsidian" or "shadow noir" or whatever nonsense companies are calling black these days. Just black. Like my coffee. Like my outlook. Like the void I was trying to fill with impulse purchases before I decided to become a "reader." The screen looks like actual paper. I don't know how they did this. It's not backlit in a way that screams "I'm staring at a device." It's backlit in a way that whispers "I'm a thoughtful person who makes good choices." I've never felt more intellectually superior while reading a thriller about a woman who finds out her husband has a secret second family in Delaware. Sixteen gigabytes of storage. That's thousands of books. Thousands. I currently have eleven. But I could have thousands, and that's the point. The potential is there. I am one bad night and a glass of wine away from owning every book Oprah has ever recommended. It also plays Audible books. Through Bluetooth. To my AirPods. Which means I can listen to the books I'm not reading while I do other things I'm also not really paying attention to. I've "read" three books this month while doing dishes, folding laundry, and staring blankly at the wall. Productivity has never felt so passive. I'm not saying I retain any of it, but I'm definitely getting through the content. That counts. I've decided it counts. The battery lasts weeks. Weeks. I charged it once in January and I think it's still going. My phone dies if I look at it wrong. My laptop is basically a corded device at this point. But this Kindle? This Kindle has the energy I wish I had. It's in better shape than me. It's waterproof. I haven't tested this because I'm not a sociopath who reads in the bathtub, but I appreciate that the option exists. If I ever become the kind of person who "takes baths," I'm ready. The best part? No notifications. No emails. No "breaking news" about something I can't control. Just words. On a page. Or in my ears. In order. The way God intended before we all got phones and forgot what silence felt like. I bought this thing to read more, and now I read more. Or at least listen more. That's it. That's the review. It does what it says it does. In 2024, that's basically a miracle. Would absolutely buy again to continue pretending I'm the kind of person who finishes books.

I recently bought a 12th gen Paperwhite to replace (supplement, actually) my 11 year old Paperwhite that had developed some kind of "tear" on the light emitting part of the screen that made reading at night a bit irritating. I spent the extra $20 after I purchased the new PaperWhite to be rid of the cover advertising that Amazon never gets right for me. Not a big fan of interplanetary romance fantasies, but that's just me. In short, it's really wonderful. The screen is bigger, the resolution is greater, and all functions are peppier. Unqualified recommendation for this device. I use the new control to tint the screen a bit beige to match the settings on my iPhone Kindle App. It joins my previous Paperwhite which I still use with the illumination off (thanks to E Ink), and the Kindle apps on my iPhone, iPad, and Windows laptop. I got mine at the nearby BestBuy because of their very reasonable return policy means I don't have to deal with Amazon Customer disservice. But I won't be returning this gem. One thing I'm wondering about, though. I got mine for $160 (pre no-ad upgrade) and I'm wondering if the newly enacted tariffs will affect the price. I know for a fact that tariffs won't affect the price of Kindle books since you buy them from your country’s Kindle Store, but I believe that the Kindle itself is made in Taiwan. For the record, I also read on the Kindle app on my iPhone, iPad, and Windows Laptop, so that might be the way to go if Kindles get too expensive. But if they're still $160, grab them while you can.

Battery life lasts WEEEKS! I read almost every night since I got my kindle back in June. It has absolutely changed the reading game for me. Idk if I’ll ever be able to read a physical copy again. This will sound crazy but for the doom scrolling people that want to stop and think maybe a kindle will solve that because it’s a device and not a book I can say it 1999% will.

Holds countless books, I only have to charge it every couple weeks, and its waterproof?! Seriously, just buy the Kindle Paperwhite and you won't regret it. I always said I preferred the feel of a book but this has changed my mind. Less wrist strain, more privacy when reading in public, and backlit screen eliminating the need for a book lamp at night allow me to read more than ever! Plus you can make your own cover inserts to personalize your Kindle.

I still love and collect paper books, and that will never change—but physical books come in different sizes, can be heavy, and get worn out easily. When I traveled with books before, I had to protect them in plastic or document folders. The Kindle is different. It’s slim, lightweight, and incredibly easy to carry anywhere. The battery lasts a long time, which I really appreciate, and it’s always with me—traveling from room to room almost like my phone. What I love most is how instantly accessible knowledge becomes. Whenever I get an idea, I can act on it right away. Recently I wanted to research a topic like thyroid health, and I found a book and saved it to read later. Then I became interested in emotional intelligence and started researching books for my next read. Any idea that comes to mind—I can explore it immediately and keep it handy. At first, I thought I’d just test the Kindle for a while and possibly return it. But now I know—this device is staying with me. It’s truly amazing, and I genuinely enjoy using it every day.

I wasn’t sure I was going to like this because I love the experience of reading an actual book but I’m obsessed! It’s so lightweight and perfect for traveling. I can take it with me on a road trip and read multiple books without having to pack physical books in my luggage. It’s so good for reading at night as well if you have a partner that’s sleeping in bed because you can read in the dark. The kindle unlimited subscription really makes a big difference too. 10/10

My first kindle and I am adjusting really well. It is easy to use, has a great battery life and quick charge. What more can I say it brings a story to me in a moments notice and plenty of storage.

This is my 1st time diving into the e-reader world. I will say that the Kindle Paperwhite has far exceeded my expectations. I can now carry my collection everywhere I go, in fact I now read on my lunch hour. definitely have found myself reading much more now

I am so happy with my new Paperwhite. I had an original kindle and finally updated. I didn't want to because my original still worked. However, I am so glad I did- It is so fast!! And so light. I recommend to all!! I wish you didnt have to buy the cover separately.

This is by far the best electronic book I’ve ever used. I recently took it with me on a cruise, where there was a great deal of sunshine, and the pages seemed just like that of a book. This Kindle being compact makes taking it with you easy and not a burden at all. I would highly recommend this Kindle to anyone who loves to read in any environment. This Kindle is versatile as well in that you can download books from Kindle or other places like good reads.

I highly recommend this product. it is light weight, clear reading and perfect size. The text size is perfect. I was worried since the product is only 7 inches but I have no complaints and battery life is fantastic!

I was gifted this kindle for Christmas along with kindle unlimited and I’m in love! It’s light weight, portable, and easy to use. Set up was quick and easy, I’m thoroughly enjoying my kindle and I would recommend to others!

I was apprehensive about purchasing a kindle. I loved reading a physical book. When I first got it and started using it I was in love. So convenient and I can throw it in my bag and it won’t get ripped up like a book. I can read in any lighting. If I have 10 min here or there waiting like picking a kid up from a sport I can pull it out and read. Keeps me in my spot no need for book marks. Oh and sooo many cute cases.

I was shy about getting a Kindle. Now that I have I literally don't leave the house without it. Please know when you first get it an are setting it up that when you are on WIFI the battery life doesn't last like it should. Once it is on airplane mode it does.

I bought this Kindle PaperWhite for a trip to Hawaii! I always loved taking books on vacation but hated packing 3 or 4 of them! I am a fast reader and was able to read 10 books by the pool and on the lanai! I also loved cozying up with my Kindle by the Christmas tree!

My wife loves it. Great product that allows her to read her “fun” books without the need to walk around with the book and the looks from others that come with those books….or at least that’s what I assume she is reading…

I love my kindle so much! Lighter and convenient, the battery last at least a week for me, and the warmth feature does wonders for when I have migraines. I love the size and couldn’t recommend the paperwhite more.
