Looked at comparable monitors and ended up with this one.
I used to have a more expensive brand that was good. I replaced it with this AOC at almost 1/2 the cost.
This monitor is better quality that its more expensive competitors.

this has been a great monitor. I got it for the large screen and it works well with excellent clarity. I've had it for several months and no problems.
It was on sale-probably Deal of the Day--it was a good buy.

This is an incredible monitor for the price. The colors are very accurate out of the box (you will probably need to turn the brightness down about halfway though). I use two of these monitors without the included stand, because I love the design of monitors that sit up like a picture frame, and the choice of using the stand or not is excellent.
The monitor does come with speakers, which obviously are probably not that great, but who buys a monitor for speakers? What is nice about having the speakers is the sound pass-through. I am able to hook up an HDMI capable device that would have sound coming through and output it from the monitor into my own speakers, which is great for me, since I also have my Xbox 360 and Wii U hooked up to my 2nd monitor (as well as 2nd output for my PC, you will need an HDMI splitter if you want 3 or more devices connected to this monitor). 1080p resolution might be a huge letdown for some, however for the price, I feel it is justified. I don't need anything higher than 1080p right now anyways, unless I had the monitors closer to my face maybe...
Gaming on this monitor is great, no ghosting as far as I can tell. Some back light bleed is noticeable if you are looking for it and if you are using a dark background and have the lights turned off. Still handles back light bleed better than cheap monitors in this price range.

I bought this as a second monitor for my MacBook. I'd originally bought it because it had a speaker built in and two HDMI inputs. I hooked my Apple TV and my MacBook up to it, but the audio quality on the built in speaker was pretty poor. The picture on the monitor is great. I do a lot of web design and development so I'm not doing anything very interese. I absolutely plan to pickup a second one. I gave it three stars because the built in speaker was pretty bad and didn't offer any volume control.

Clean looking 27". If you don't want to pay more than double for a higher resolution 27", this monitor is perfect. It does not have an adjustable stand which is annoying for those who care about ergonomics. The included software is junk. The monitor controls are standard, nothing special. I do not have any dead pixels. The resolution is just fine and I don't notice any issues that some people complain about to justify the higher resolution monitors.

This is an excellent monitor for the cost. It has a basic HD quality (Don't expect a iMac 4K resolution). I am satisfied with the promptly delivery of the product before the expected date and in good condition. Resolution is pretty decent and no performance issues till date.

I value good color and clarity so I researched and looked at a lot of monitors before choosing this one. I'm not a gamer, so I can't address it in those terms, but I'm happy with the picture quality and size.

I will buy another to match when they go on sale again. I like the thin bezel and great picture characteristics. Mostly used for graphic illustration work. Has a few visual presets if viewing the web, text, graphics, gaming and you can set your own. This is a very nice monitor and great price compared to other high-end brands. A great monitor for the price! I highly recommend buying this monitor.

Let me start by saying that this monitor is not the best monitor out there. There are plenty of superior monitors with g-sync and 144Hz refresh rates for the enthusiast gamers. However, being someone who doesn't appreciate the PC gamer aesthetic this monitor has a wonderfully modern design. With that design however comes the one feature I don't care for being the "touch" interface for changing inputs. It does work without too much trouble the but response is somewhat delayed which can be frustrating. That being said, for the price it's a great product.

Plenty of work space. I work with a lot of spreadsheets and databases; this monitor, along with my dual really increases my productivity. Big enough to watch movies on, although I just use for work.

This is a decent monitor for the price. I got it on sale, probably wouldn't pay the regular price for this one though. It's an IPS screen with decent picture quality. It has a slight tilt option but the faux front aluminum portion is a little cheesy.

I recently purchased two of these screens for my home office, and they are a huge step up from my old VGA 1080 screen. Crisp images and smooth frame rate, along with a very attractive housing.
Be warned through - these screens do not have any mounting holes on the back - only a post that attaches to the base. Therefore, I have to have these monitors resting on my desk instead of using the raised bracket I had intended on.

I was looking for a 27" monitor. I did have a 24" LCD monitor and a 22" monitor. The 24" monitor does not show sharp text while the 22" monitor is a little too small. I do lot of photoshop work, and I was interested in 2560 x 1440 resolution monitor. However, I found out that the text size is smaller than 1080 monitor, and the photo image quality is not necessary better than 1080 monitor at my working distance. Of course the price is more than doubled. I searched online. None of them attracted my eyes except this AOC model at Bestbuy. I really like it. The design, the sharpness and the size of text display, the photo image quality, and the IPS model for the view angle. The only thing that I could expect more is the dark contrast., not the best with a native 1000:1. (do not be fooled with dynamic contrast. It is useless!)

Motherboard supports 2560x1600 (HDMI) but only 1920x1200 (DVI)
Was actually looking for a higher end monitor that would match up with the motherboard and was close to purchasing a Dell U2713 at twice the price until I learned that it only supported 1920x1200 (HDMI) - same as the AOC. Purchased the AOC with intent to have for several years until state of the art improves further.

I've been buying Dell & Samsung monitors for a number of years now. Well, my monitor went out in a pinch one night, and I had to buy another right away. I went to my local best buy and the only 23"+ monitor they had in stock (other than Lenovo & HP which I didnt want) that was HDMI was this AOC. It's alittle larger than I wanted, but I dont regret the purchase now. The extra visual real estate is nice, and it really doesn't take up THAT much more room on my desk top.
Performance wise I dont have any regrets. Nothing negative to say. I do love the anti glare screen though (the dell & samsungs were shiny).
I would definitely purchase again.
